It's Been A While, Sorry Guys

So...It's been a very long time since my last post, but it's not entirely my fault. Anyways, I just wanted to write about this first year at Kerr...I won't lie, it was unbelievably hard to cope with the homework load and with the high expectations of the teachers, but I will confess I actually kind of like it there. In just one year I have already become president of my class, a member of Alief Jazz Ballet, Speech and Debate Club, and Student Council!! It may sound nerdy to you, but in reality I am so proud of myself for being in all these organizations and still maintaining a GPA of 3.79! Along with making good grades I also made so many wonderful friends who were there with me to help make me laugh and give me good advice. Oh, back to Alief Jazz Ballet, I believe our first show is in December and I'll be sure to keep you guys' posted for the exact dates.

That's all I have to say for now,
Ozy

Being at Kerr is a pain you can probably tell from the long gap I gave from blogging. That place is crazy!! The teachers are crazy, the students are crazy, I'm crazy jk jk . I'm going crazy though. I'm going to make this one short though cause I still have homework. I Love yall and I really miss yall.

I'm Back!

So I'm back from Ethiopia and I brought some things for Coach Hawley and my parents. We don't start school till next week on the 24th and you might be wondering why this blog is sooo boring but really I have to write about except this new idea I came up with. I was just washing dishes and there was some sugar in the sink so I rubbed some in between my hands and the result was fabulous. My hands came out so much softer than before. I can almost see it now multimillion-dollar industry all started by a 14 year old girl. I'm gonna make some moneyyy!!! I plan to name my new idea Sweet Tooth Allover Body Scrubs. I had plenty of names such as Suga Suga, Sug Sug (Shug Shug). I also came up with Body Candy Allover Body Scrub, but in the mean tie I will pray to God to help me decide and push this idea forward if it is really his will for me to do it. The real reason I want to do this is to make my mom proud. She has had so many disappointments in life and I just want her to be happy. I know if my idea becomes real she will be overjoyed.

No Sports!!?!

Freshman, the title that comes along with students entering the realm of upperclassmen for the first time. It also happens to be what I will be next year though other people might think FISH sounds better(seniors, juniors..you get the picture). Next year is the year for me I am going to be in High School!!! The only problem is the school I am going to be attending, Kerr High, has no sports(gasp!). By no sports I mean no football, no basketball, and definately no pep rallies. No estatic cheers from the cheerleaders, and no standing up with wide-open mouths when the quarterback is just seconds away from scoring the winning touchdown. But on the plus side Kerr does have a great orchestra and they have an outstanding band so I think I'll live. But, man! No sports!!?!

Arlington Nat'l Cemetery

A week ago I was in Washington D.C. on a CloseUp trip with some of the other eighth graders in my class. We went to places like the Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and the FDR Memorial, but the places that really stuck out to me the most were the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. I 'll tell you about Arlington, at first glance it can be quite depressing and it was, but on looking closer I found that it was very intresting. Despite the fact that 99.999999999999% of the cemetery was covered in tombstones, I actually liked it. The best part was the changing of the guard of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It's one of those things that gives you goosebumps because it's so solemn. I took plenty of pictures and I'll post them once they are ready. Well that's all for now. : )

Knight in Distress

A couple days ago I was walking into the cafeteria/gymnasium after a hard workout at softball practice. While I was walking towards the locker room I happened to notice a card lying on the floor. As usual curiosity got the best of me and I picked it up. It was only after examining it that I realized that it was KP's insurance card for Blue Cross Blue Shield! You know that feeling you get when you've just found something worth alot? Now imagine that doubled, not only had I found a lost item of KP's it was his insurance card!! A million thoughts whirred through my mind. There was one thing however that didn't cross my mind, keeping the card. While the younger part of me would have kept the card as a keepsake the older part knew to well how traumatizing it can be to lose something like that. So long story short, at lunch the next day as KP was walking (it was like running to me!) towards the gym I stopped him and gave him the card. His response was disbeleif and later gratititude, he even gave me a hug! As I was going home that day I put myself in his shoes and realized how scared I would be that it would fall into the wrong hands.

I John 3:17-"If anyone has material possesions and sees his brother in need but does not have pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?"

Note: If your name happens to be Coach Steve Hawley and you feel a sudden urge to use this in your 8th Period Bible Class the following day, Please, Please resist the urge!!

Minty Fresh

I remember when I was around the age of 5, I was watching a commercial for a breath freshener that came in a spray bottle.I remember seeing the man in the ad being so depressed because he had bad breath, but after using the spray he was so confident in himself that he got a pretty girl's number that very day. As you can imagine me and my naive 5 year old self went to try the very same thing with my mother's Giorgio Armani. I could say that the outcome of my 10 second rendevous was a little more than unpleasant but actually, it was horrible. The sensation I got in my mouth was wayyy off what they described in the TV ad! That day I learned why they have labels on certain products saying keep away from children! Another thing I learned that day is that when mother's say "DON'T TOUCH THAT!" or "LEAVE THAT ALONE!" it indeed for your own good. I'm 13 now and sometimes I don't really listen to my mom but in the end I end up doing something stupid and it is only then that I remember those famous words mothers always use... "DIDN'T I TELL YOU NOT TO DO THAT!?!"
